Juicy turkey burgers meld with caramelized onions, the perfect complement to garlic aioli spread over toasted brioche. A giardiniera topping adds an extra savory bite.

Onion, thinly sliced

Directions

    Cook the burgers

  1. 1. Heat a pan over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add a layer of thinly sliced onions directly to the pan.
  3. 3. Place turkey patties on top of the onions.
  4. 4. Let cook slowly so the onions soften and caramelize underneath.
  5. 5. After a few minutes, press down (smash) the burger into the onions.
  6. 6. Season with salt.
  7. 7. Continue cooking until the burger is cooked through and onions are deeply caramelized.

    Make the garlic aioli

  1. 1. Mix mayonnaise, garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Set aside.

Directions

    Toast the bread

  1. 1. Lightly toast brioche slices.
  2. Assemble (open-faced)

  3. 1. Spread garlic aioli on the toasted brioche.
  4. 2. Place the smashed turkey burger with onions on top.
  5. 3. Finish with giardiniera.
