    Hawaiian Brown Gravy

  1. 1. Sauté the button mushrooms in butter until they are browned and tender.
  2. 2. Pour 4 cups of turkey stock into a small saucepan, then add soy sauce, ketchup, sugar, Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder to the pan and stir to combine.
  3. 3. Combine the cornstarch and water in a small bowl and whisk until there are no lumps.
  4. 4. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring to a low boil, then reduce to low.
  5. 5. Whisk in the cornstarch and water mixture and cook until the mixture is thickened, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  6. 6. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  7. 7. Add the mushrooms to the gravy and stir to combine.
  8. 8. Preheat oven to 325° Fahrenheit.
  9. 9. Heat the remaining turkey stock to a simmer, then combine the hot stock and patties, placing in the oven to warm thoroughly.
  10. 10. Cook the fried eggs in a nonstick pan as the patties are cooking in the oven.
  11. To Serve

  12. 1. Divide the 4 cups of rice between 4 plates and place a turkey burger and egg atop the rice. Smother with the brown mushroom gravy, then garnish with sliced green onion and furikake (optional).
