There’s a saying that goes something like: if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life. I definitely agree that a fulfilling career can improve the way you live. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my career at Butterball has been helping other chefs. There’s nothing better than identifying a need that chefs have and then finding ways to meet that need in order to help them succeed.
Recently, we launched two types of seasoned turkey crumbles. These products were designed to help chefs create customizable menu options that are healthy and delicious. Turkey Breakfast Sausage Crumbles have a subtle sage flavor, which is perfect for the morning menu and beyond, while Turkey Chorizo Crumbles are made with authentic chorizo seasonings for a spicy kick. The crumbles are an excellent alternative to pork in recipes such as French Bread Pizza and Venezuelan Breakfast Arepa.
As a chef, I certainly appreciate that these products open new doors to menu customization. Plus, they’re already cooked and speed-scratch ready, so back-of-house staff doesn’t have to worry about handling raw ingredients when using them in recipes.
Besides offering the crumbles as a topping for customization, chefs can add them to pizza, country gravy, scramblers, pasta, burritos—the list goes on. One of my favorite ways to use these products is as a replacement for ground turkey in sauces. It’s so easy and convenient.
